Privacy policy

Last update: January 02, 2024

The confidentiality of your data – and it’s your data, not ours! – is very important to us. In this policy, we detail: what data we collect and why; how your data is processed; and your rights regarding your data. We promise never to sell your data: we never have, and we never will. By accessing and using our website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Policy.

What we collect and why

Our guiding principle is to collect only what we need. Here’s what that means in practice:

Identity and access

When you start using the 20tester website, we assign you a user ID for account management and analysis purposes. We also use an anonymous device identifier for account management and analysis purposes.

To access and use the 20tester service, users must create an account. When you create an account, we collect personal information such as your first name, last name and e-mail address. This information is used for account management, identification, communication and the provision of our services.

Personal information

Personal information refers to data that can identify you directly or be combined with other information to determine your identity. This type of information includes your name, company name, e-mail address and billing details. In addition, personal information may include data that, taken individually, does not reveal your identity but may be combined with other data to recognize you. Examples of such data include your profession, zip code, IP address and current location.

Billing information

If you subscribe to a 20tester paid plan, we collect purchase history for fraud prevention and analysis purposes.

Interactions with products

We store the content you download in your 20tester product accounts. This enables you to use our products as intended, for example to test your mobile application, and also to improve the functionality of our product. We keep this content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove the content within 60 days.

Geolocation data

We collect information on the city, region and country. We do not collect granular or real-time geolocation data.

Interaction with the website

We collect information about your activity on the website for analysis and statistical purposes, such as conversion rate tests and experiments with new product designs. This includes, for example, your browser and operating system versions, the web pages you have visited and their loading times, and the website that referred you to us.

Advertising and cookies

20tester delivers contextual advertising on various third-party platforms such as Facebook. Users who click on one of our ads are redirected to the 20tester marketing site. To the extent permitted by law, we may load an advertising company’s script onto their browsers that sets a third-party cookie and sends information to the advertising network to enable evaluation of the effectiveness of our advertisements, for example which ads they clicked and which keyword triggered the ad, as well as whether they performed certain actions such as clicking a button or submitting a form.

We also use cookies

persistent first-party cookies and certain third-party cookies to store certain preferences, facilitate your use of our services and carry out A/B testing as well as support certain analyses.

A cookie is a piece of text stored by your browser. It can help remember login information and site preferences. It may also collect information such as your browser type, operating system, web pages visited, length of visit, content viewed and other browsing data. You can adjust cookie retention settings and accept or block individual cookies in your browser settings, although our applications will not work and other aspects of our service may not function properly if you disable cookies.

Voluntary correspondence

When you e-mail 20tester with a question or to request assistance, we retain that correspondence, including your e-mail address, so that we have a history of past correspondence to review if you contact us in the future.

We also store information that you may provide voluntarily, for example, written responses to surveys. If you agree to a customer interview, we may ask your permission to record the conversation for future reference or use. We will only do so with your explicit consent.

When we access or share your information

To provide the products or services you have requested. We use certain standard third-party contractors such as Google Cloud to help operate our website and provide the Services to you. We can provide a detailed list of third-party subcontractors at contact@20tester.com.
To help you solve a problem or correct a software bug. If at any time we need to access your content to help you with a support case.
To improve service quality. We may use your information to improve the quality of the service we provide to you.
When required by applicable law.
